What is the new tax reform all about?

At the end of September 2017 and after lengthy discussions and a public hearing, the Slovenian Government has finally adopted amendments to four tax laws. The tax reform is expected to be confirmed at the National Assembly and enter into force with the new calendar year.

Non and late payment of salaries still the most common violation

In its Annual Report for 2016, the Labour Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia states that the level of compliance with labour legislation in Slovenia is still worrying. Most violations concern the non or late payment of salaries for which the labour inspectors have, apart from imposing fines, also been vested with new powers to close a business.
