Despite opposition from employers, 2018 began with a gross minimum wage increase of 4.7% in the Republic of Slovenia. The new gross minimum wage is now EUR 842.70.

A new Collective Agreement for Road Passenger Transport in Slovenia and a new Collective Agreement for the Graphic Design Sector were concluded. In recent months, the social partners concluded several annexes to the collective agreements for these industries, in particular, determining the new amounts of the basic minimum wages and other remunerations of workers for 2018.

The Constitutional Court has ruled that part of the Criminal Procedure Act is contrary to the Constitution because it limits the rights of appeal of injured parties against a first instance judgment in criminal proceedings.
