Changes in online payment services and other electronic payments

On 14 September 2019, changes in payment services legislation will enter into force, which will affect the business of numerous service providers, among them hoteliers and online retailers. If they fail to put in place adequate (stricter) arrangements for verifying the identity of payers, the payer's bank will be able to reject the payment.

Activities of the Labour Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia in 2018

The Labour Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia (IRSD) carried out around 13,000 inspection and uncovered more than 24,000 various violations in 2018. Fines totalled EUR 3.8 million, a figure that is up approx. 25% on the figure for 2017. The IRSD has found in its report that employers as a rule repeat the same type of violations and that many employers are not award of their obligations in the event of an inspection.

Are there changes in store when it comes to keeping track of employees work time?

In May 2019 the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) rendered a judgment which may lead to more stringent monitoring of time worked by employees. Employers should expect to have to comply with the obligation of setting up a more reliable system for recording work time.
