In the last edition of Legal Buzz we reviewed the rights and obligations of employee and employer with regard to employee inventions. Here we look at what usually additionally motivates the inventor to create inventions – earnings or a suitable reward.

Foreign Nationals (Employment, Self-Employment and Work) (Amendment) Act (ZZSDT-C) (Official Gazette of Republic of Slovenia, No. 57/21) and Foreign Nationals (Amendment) Act (ZTuj-2F) (Official Gazette of Republic of Slovenia, No. 57/21) will come into force on the 27th of May 2021. The major change on the employment front is the amendment to the provision regarding approvals of uniform residence and work permit applications by foreign nationals that wish to train, continue professional development or complete an internship in the Republic of Slovenia.

Under current legislation landlords leasing private apartments (long-term) are liable for a hefty tax bill, which discourages many from (legally) leasing real estate. What can one do to (legally) reduce the related tax liabilities?
